What amount of minerals/salt do I need to add to my pool water initially?
Consult with your pool professional for details. Their mineral/salt program
of choice will determine activation amounts.
Do
I need to add minerals/salt every year?
No. You only need to add minerals/salt necessary to make up any that was
splashed out of the pool or eliminated while backwashing the pool. This
is usually minimal, about 10% of the initial activation amount annually.
Note that salt, the main ingredient in any mineral program, can not be
evaporated out of the pool; it is only reduced when water is emptied from
the pool (splashing, backwashing, etc.)
